Then in early 2007 word came that these two groups had come together and had formed “TK and McReas”. The new group was formed when Troy and Katy Peach, Annie McRea and Amanda Till came together. The “s” in the McReas was dropped shortly after and the new group, “TK & McRae” was formed.
The first single from the TK & McRae, “When He Said Live” was released to radio in March 2007 and rapidly climbed to the number two spot on the Singing News gospel chart. It spent three months in the top ten. The song was written by Annie McRae who has penned several number one songs including, "If It Had Not Been The Lord" and "The Is a Remedy" from their Traveling On I remember listening to it for the first time and thinking that this was a case where the new group, the new sound, was greater than the sum of the parts. Both groups, The McRaes and First Love were excellent groups – I have been a long time fan of the McReas – but the new sound rises to a new height that is sure to make them a top tier Southern Gospel group for years to come.
