Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver have been performing for almost 30 years. Their latest release, "Help Is On the Way" continues the legacy of this outstanding group.
Doyle Lawson was born in Ford Town, Tennessee in 1944. He learned to play the mandolin at the age of 11. Hid early influences include Bill Monroe.
In 1979 he formed a group named Doyle Lawson and Foxfire. The name was soon changed to the current name of Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver. The early group of Terry Baucom, Jimmy Haley and Lou Reid honed the sound that we have come to love from this tremendous group.
Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver have released many gospel albums through the year. Doyle rededicated his life to Christ in 1985. Since that time he has been on a musical mission to lead others to Him.
The Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver festival is held in Denton, NC. In addition to great music, the festival also boasts a golf tournament. Golf is one of Doyle’s favorite pastimes. The festival has been going strong for over twenty-five years.
