Ivan Parker is one of Southern Gospel music's finest vocalists. On, "Under Grace " Ivan takes his brand of Southern Gospel music to a new level. "Under Grace" finds Ivan Parker taking a step into a more "progressive" style of Southern Gospel music.
When I asked Ivan Parker about the the music on this project, "The Grace That I'm Under", in particular he laughed and responded, "Alot of times we don't have a clue as to how these songs are going to - I guess you would say - 'go down on tape'. We come up with arrangements, we come up with the songs, and alot of times the studio musicians will actually put a certain feel to them and just really out do themselves."
"When ever we started doing the tracks on this CD, they actually took it a different direction. We were all very pleasantly surprised because it is a little bit different and a lot more progressive."
I guess it pays off to have top quality studio musicans like those at the Crossroads studios when making a recording. It sure made the difference on "Under Grace"!
