Jeff and Sheri Easter, "Roses Will Bloom Again", Classic Southern Gospel Music, Lyrics and More
Jeff and Sheri Easter have recorded several classic Southern Gospel songs including "Roses Will Bloom Again", "Praise His Name", and "Going Away Party". They are some of the most beloved performers in Southern Gospel Music, indeed in Christian Music as a whole. After performing with the Lewis family for several years Jeff & Sheri struck out on their own in 1988 and have been a major influence in Southern Gospel, Christian Country and Bluegrass music ever since.
Jeff & Sheri Easter have won three Dove Awards for Country Album of the Year for “Heirloom” and “Work In Progress”. They also won the Dove Award for Country Song of the Year for “Going Away Party”. Sheri has received numerous awards and recognitions and has been named Favorite Female Alto by the Singing News Fans Awards 10 times and Favorite Southern Gospel Female Singer three times. The list of accolades is impressive but not as impressive as their desire to reach people with a message of hope, love and salvation in Christ. Jeff & Sheri Easter have become regulars on the Gaither Homecoming Tours and Video series. In addition to touring with the Gaither Homecoming tour, Jeff and Sheri also keep a full touring schedule of their own. Roses Will Bloom Again "Roses Will Bloom Again" was recorded on Jeff and Sheri Easter's, "By Request" album. It is a song that still gets numerous requests and is sung in churches and outreaches throughout the country every week. "Roses Will Bloom Again" was written by Marhsa Henry. Marsha has written many songs including "Last Night" performed by Karne Peck and New River on their "Journey of Joy" album.
"Roses Will Bloom Again" is a song that speaks of the Hope that we have in Jesus Christ. We have the Hope of being reunited with our loved ones in a better place, home, with our Saviour. This message is timeless as is this song.
Sheri Easter Talks About “Roses Will Bloom Again”“Its one of those songs. When Marcia Henry first gave me the song I absolutely fell in love with it. I had told her before she wrote the song – because she was a great writer, she had written several things that I really enjoyed – I told her that I loved her songs that talked about ‘today’. I think a lot of Southern Gospel lyrics talk about heaven and that’s wonderful but I never felt like that is what I am supposed to do. I had felt like , because I had lost my daddy at twenty years of age, that my, I guess my calling, or my priority is to say to people ‘be encouraged’ you know ‘God is Faithful’. I try to remember that message. If you look back over all of our songs you will see that I seek out songs with a message like that.
“So I told Marcia I wanted a song that encourages people today in whatever they are going through and I said I also love songs that take personal relationships that we understand like a mother and a father or a husband and a wife then compares it to our relationship with God. “I just made these comments to her and a week later she sent me “Roses Will Bloom Again” and I just sat at my desk and wept when I heard it the first time.”

Roses Will Boom Again Written by Marsha Henry performed by Jeff and Sheri Easter From the album, “By Request”
Verse 1
I planted a little rose bush I tended it with care It’s buds began to blossom Their fragrance filled the air But when winter came it withered, The petals drooped and fell to the ground My heart sank as it faded But I’d forgotten who had made it
Chorus Roses will bloom again Just wait and see Don’t mourn what might have been Only God knows how and when that Roses will bloom again
Verse 2 Rose was his only sweetheart A loving wife for forty years Cherished every day they had And held memories oh so dear He never dreamed he’s bury love And go to live alone But he lay his Rose to rest Looked up to heaven and tried his best To believe that
Chorus Roses will bloom again Just wait and see Don’t mourn what might have been Only God knows how and when that Roses will bloom again
Verse 3 The precious Rose of Sharon Broken and bruised in cruel shame Stained on the cross of Calvary So that men might be saved Oh, satan cheered as He died While Mary and the others cried Then God raised Him up from that sleep And kept a promise only He could keep
Chorus Roses will bloom again Just wait and see Don’t mourn what might have been
