Three Bridges, Southern Gospel Music With Soul

Three Bridges, one of the hottest groups in Southern Gospel music, has just finished recording their new album, “Breakin’ Chains”. This comes just as “A Little Song Coming On” from their “Promises” album hits the #1 spot on the Singing News Gospel charts.

"Believe" released in 2005 yielded their first #1 song, "In The Sky". Their "Soldiers" project helped to open a national audience for this Southern Gospel group. With such songs as, "I'm A Soldier" and "Dear Captain", this album remains a fan favorite.

Three Bridges is composed of Elliot McCoy, Dave McVay and Mitchel Jon Kenitzer. Their musical style is a unique blend of traditional Southern Gospel music with Black Gospel. The result is a sound that is distinctly Three Bridges’. Southern Gospel Music's Three Bridges Elliot McCoy, manager and baritone, comes from eastern Kentucky and yes, his heritage is from the famous Hatfield-McCoy feud. He has more than 35 years experience ministering the Gospel in song. As early as 1976 he was featured in National Geographic for singing in front of 40,000 people at an outdoor concert in West Virginia.

Dave McVay, tenor, began singing with his brothers at the age of 11 and preformed on WSMV’s Ralph Emery Show. At the age of twelve he gave his life to the Lord and began singing Southern Gospel music. As a trio, Dave and his brothers were honored to sing with such artists as The Blackwood Singers, the Oak Ridge Broadband Essentials by RealNetworks Boys and J.D. Sumner and the Stamps. He pursued a career in country music after moving to Tennessee and worked with such artists as Randy Travis, Alan Jackson and Garth Brooks. After ten years in the country music business Dave returned to his first love, Southern Gospel Music.

Mitchel Jon Kenitzer, lead, is probably the only singer in Southern Gospel music that comes from the state of North Dakota. He started his first band at the age of 15. As his musical skills progressed he worked the club circuit in the Midwest and began to write and record for himself. In 1996 he and his wife gave their lives to Christ. They moved to Nashville where he was introduced to Southern Gospel music and was immediately inspired to compose this style of music. His songs have been recorded by groups such as Chosen Few and Jessica King.

Three Bridges has had two #1 songs, “In The Sky” and “A Little Song Coming On”, the latter being written by Southern Gospel legend Ronnie Hinson. In addition, they have had four other top 40 songs including, “Not The Great I Was”, “Come Out of the Wilderness”,and “I Will Glory In The Story”.

In 2003 Three Bridges was honored as Break Through Artist of the Year at the Annual Southern Gospel News Awards. They also won the 2004 Southern Gospel Music Guild Harmony Award “New Artist of the Year”. They also were awarded The Horizon Group of the Year, 2004, by the Southern Gospel Music Forum Diamond Awards. In 2005 they received four Southern Gospel News Music Award nominations and were named the Singing News Fan Awards Trio of the Year.

Whether you prefer traditional Southern Gospel music of Southern Gospel music with an edge, Three Bridges has something for you.
